Run squad nights
Give each squad its own ranking in one league, or run a one-off squad night as a comp.
Squad sessions work as an ordinary league or comp. Climbers score on their phones, the TV shows each squad’s board, and nothing extra is needed.
Which to use
- A one-off squad night or comp day: create a comp.
- Regular squad sessions across a season (weekly or monthly): create a league. Each session is a round, and the league adds the scores up over the season, with the best few counting if you choose.
If your wall is on a plan, both are included. Without a plan, a comp pass pays for one comp, and a league season pass pays once for a league’s season (Billing page, owners only).
One category for each squad
- Create the league or comp, then open its Overview tab.
- In Categories, add one for each squad (for example Squad A and Squad B). Keep Open if you want a ranking of everyone.
- Climbers pick their squad when they join. Each squad gets its own ranking on phones and on the TV, which rotates through every category and then the league table.
If a squad has under-16s
- Tick Junior category (never public) on that squad’s category. A name like Squad A is not flagged on its own, so tick it by hand. Once ticked it cannot be unticked.
- Junior categories and under-16s never appear on climbtable.com. Public results are off until an owner switches them on, and only climbers who confirm they are 16 or over can opt in.
- Use first names and an initial where you can, and keep the squad’s results on the TV and on paper.
ClimbTable has nothing built for parents or for tracking a young climber over time. It is the scoring, the leaderboard and the printed results.
Good to know
- Run a test with the squad coaches first: Test mode, in its own guide.
- Between sessions, Copy last round’s problems (Problems tab) saves re-entering them.
- The Setter report shows which problems the squads found too easy or too hard.
